KEBBI DEPUTY GOV. ORDERS RELEASE OF  RELIEF MATERIALS TO VICTIMS OF WINDSTORM IN ZAURO
Deputy Governor of Kebbi State, Senator Umar Abubakar Tafidan Kabi has directed State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) to hasten assessment of affected houses and provide relief materials such as zinc roofing sheets, cement and other items to victims of windstorm in Zauro town to enable them resettle to their homes immediately.

This was as a result of heavy windstorm which blew-off roofs and walls of over 100 houses at Zauro town in Birnin Kebbi local government area of Kebbi state.

The Deputy Governor gave directive when he was conducted round to the affected houses  by Representative of District Head of Zauro, Alhaji Muhammad Dikko and Special Adviser to the Governor on Special Duties, Hon. Shafi'u Abubakar Zauro.

Senator Umar Abubakar who sympathized with victims on behalf of the State Governor, Dr. Nasir Idris Kauran Gwandu over the unfortunate incidence, also directed State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) to hasten assessment of the affected houses and provide support within 24 hours in order to cushion their hardship.

Also speaking to newsmen, the Representative of District Head of Zauro, Alhaji Muhammad Dikko thanked the Deputy Governor, Senator Umar Abubakar, Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Yakubu Bala, officials from HYPADEC and SEMA for their concern.

Alhaji Muhammad Dikko further commended the Governor and his Deputy for the gesture which according to him will go a long way in cushioning the suffering of the victims. He prayed Allah for safe return of the Governor and other pilgrims from the Holy Land.

The Deputy Governor was accompanied to the sympathy visit by Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Yakubu Bala Tafidan Yauri, Special Advisers and SEMA officials among others.
